I love Stuart McLean. I’ve seen him live and he’s a riot. Everyone (well maybe not everyone) in Canada knows of him and may listen to his stories on the CBC radio on Saturday mornings. His books are made up of the stories he tells on the radio, with the exception of the one you’ve noted above. It’s a compliation of some of the excerpts from his notebooks. He writes while he travels. If you haven’t yet, you need to look up “Dave cooks a Christmas Turkey”. It’s a classic and is played every year on the CBC at Christmastime. I’m so glad you posted this!
