Radioactive Notebooks

Yikes, I didn’t know this:

[Marie Curie’s] laboratory and the artifacts found within, including her numerous research notebooks, are still so radioactive as to require special storage and protective equipment to handle.

  1. This doesn’t surprise me though. From what I’ve heard about Marie Curie, she used to carry chunks of radioactive matter around in her pockets. Nobody had any idea of just how dangerous this stuff is back then….it’s a shame though that her notebooks are comtaminated. I’d love the opportunity to read her notes – she was truly a woman ahead of her time.
