Here’s something that must have slipped past me– Moleskine has added to their line of red cover notebooks. You can now get the heavier paper Sketchbook in both the pocket and large size with a red cover. Great news for artists who were tired of basic black!

I discovered William Powhida’s work via Design Observer. These are not actual notebook pages, but very realistic drawings.
Another notebook that was probably manufactured in the late 1970s to early 1980s: a slim lined memorandum book by the Northern Central Co. of Milwaukee. I love this image from a recent issue of the New Yorker, which appears to have been drawn in a squared Moleskine notebook: I checked out the illustrator’s website, and though I didn’t spot any other Moleskine images, I really like his work!
